She is Confident in Her Identity

As young teens begin to pull away and lean into their friendships more, it’s common to think that girls need their moms less. The truth is that your daughter needs you more than ever, even though it looks different at this stage of her life. In a world where there are so many confusing messages about who she is supposed to be, combined with expectations that feel overwhelming from both the church and culture, this course will be a guide to help you lean into God’s truth, the voice of grace, and help you be the mentor your daughter is desperately needing in this season of her life.

This course will take you, and your daughter, through the foundational  “I am” statements of Scripture. Each lesson is integrated with biblical, clinical, and relational wisdom because we believe that will provide a transformation journey for both you and your daughter.

Every daughter needs a trusted guide to show her the way to becoming a woman, confident in who God says she is and what God says about her.

Mom—that guide is you! And it’s never too late.

Though many moms feel ill-equipped and may be triggered by the middle school years, your daughter needs you in all your imperfections. The middle school years are a time where girls are trying on different identities. The comparison game and growing insecurity becomes an overwhelming battle. As your daughter prepares for high school (and life), it's important to help her find a healthy identity built on a solid foundation.

This course will address some of the most common lies girls are facing today and help you guide her toward truth about:

  • Body image
  • Social media usage
  • Navigating friendships & dating
  • Peer pressure
  • Big emotions
  • Accountability and mentorship

As you walk and talk through these timely issues with your daughter, you will learn how to meet your daughter where she is and model to her the way our God meets each of us right where we are. So often we inadvertently teach our girls they need to be different than they are, and I want to help you delight in her, listen to her, and truly get to know who God made her to be. And when she forgets (because she will), you will be there to help her remember.

We are transformed by the renewing of our minds, through safe conversations and repeated experiences with trusted people who love us. This course will help her be honest with you about how she sees her world and have tangible practice trusting you and God with her middle school reality.

In each of the 8 lessons you will find:

  • Mom Moment: A video created just for you, mom. I will give you a quick overview of the lesson from a clinical, biblical, and relational lens so you can be your daughter’s trusted mentor. Consider these videos your own “behind the scenes coaching.”
  • Conversation Guide: Conversations and activities designed to strengthen the core relationship between you and your daughter. Though tweens and teens start to naturally pull away from their moms, leaning more into friends, a daughter will always need trusted adults in her life, and she prefers her mom (if you are trustworthy). These conversations will be a guide to help you listen and get to know her in these growing years. Likewise, it will help her understand more of who you are by considering your own honest walk with God.
  • Downloadable Journal: This journal is to practice and give breathing room for your daughter to learn how to talk with God throughout her faith journey. Though journaling is not everyone’s favorite, it can be like brushing one’s teeth, sometimes annoying, but necessary. It’s a powerful way to keep our hearts, minds, and souls clean and connected to our God. Consider sitting side by side and journaling together. Or give this as a gift to your daughter as you begin these lessons together

Mom, remember that you are your daughter's primary model for womanhood, in all your humanity. These lessons are designed for you to take to heart as well. So remember that God is using these lessons to also help the middle school girl inside of you, too. As parents, we cannot give what we have not received, and trust me, she is watching you and listening to you (even when you get some attitude). Thank you for intentionally choosing to pursue your daughter and giving her practice discerning the voice of grace in a world of mass confusion.

God chose you to be her mom, and he is with you every step of the way! And I am here cheering you on!
